Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement
This Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement is made by Man With A Van in respect of its most recent financial year. It sets out the steps we are taking to identify, prevent, and address the risks of modern slavery and human trafficking within our operations and supply chains.
Man With A Van provides transport, removals, and related logistics services. While our direct operations are relatively low risk, we recognise that modern slavery can occur in any sector or geography, particularly through complex supply chains. We are committed to ensuring that our activities do not contribute to any form of exploitation.
Our Zero-Tolerance Policy
Man With A Van has a zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery, human trafficking, forced labour, and child labour in all their forms. We will not knowingly engage with or support any organisation involved in these practices.
All employees, suppliers, subcontractors, and contractors are expected to act with integrity and uphold the highest standards of ethical conduct. Any breach of our zero-tolerance policy is considered a serious misconduct issue and may result in termination of employment or commercial relationships, as well as reporting to relevant authorities where appropriate.
Our Supply Chain and Supplier Standards
Our supply chain includes vehicle and equipment suppliers, fuel providers, storage facilities, property and maintenance services, and labour agencies. We seek to work with suppliers who share our commitment to human rights and responsible business conduct.
We are integrating anti-slavery expectations into our procurement and supplier management processes. Where possible, we seek assurances from suppliers that they comply with applicable labour laws and maintain fair and safe working conditions. We will prioritise relationships with suppliers that demonstrate transparency and continuous improvement in this area.
Supplier Audits and Due Diligence
Man With A Van is developing and enhancing a risk-based due diligence process to identify and address potential modern slavery risks in our supply chain. This includes reviewing the nature of the goods and services provided, the geographic location of operations, and the use of subcontracted or temporary labour.
Where we identify higher-risk suppliers or categories of spend, we may carry out more detailed assessments, request additional information about labour practices, and, where appropriate, conduct audits or site visits. If a supplier is found to be in breach of our standards, we will work with them on a corrective action plan. If improvement is not made within agreed timescales, we reserve the right to suspend or end the relationship.
Reporting Concerns and Whistleblowing
We encourage all employees, subcontractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders to report any concerns or suspicions about modern slavery or unethical labour practices connected to our operations or supply chain.
Concerns can be raised with line managers, senior management, or through existing internal reporting channels. Reports can be made anonymously where permitted by law, and we will treat all reports seriously and sensitively. We do not tolerate victimisation or retaliation against anyone who raises a concern in good faith.
Training and Awareness
We are committed to increasing awareness of modern slavery risks among our employees and key suppliers. Relevant staff, particularly those involved in procurement, supplier management, and recruitment, will receive guidance on how to recognise signs of exploitation and how to escalate concerns.
We will update our training and awareness materials as our understanding of modern slavery risks evolves and as legislation or best practice changes.
Monitoring, Governance, and Annual Review
Responsibility for overseeing our approach to modern slavery sits with the senior management team of Man With A Van. They are accountable for ensuring that appropriate policies, procedures, and controls are in place and are operating effectively.
This statement and our wider anti-slavery measures will be reviewed at least annually. As part of that review, we will consider feedback from employees and suppliers, any incidents or concerns raised, audit findings, and developments in legal requirements and industry best practice.
We are committed to continuous improvement and to strengthening our processes over time to better identify, prevent, and address modern slavery risks. This statement has been approved by the management of Man With A Van and reflects our ongoing commitment to ethical and responsible business conduct.
